CPRC on the Dana Loesch Radio Show to discuss new background check proposals and defensive gun uses

Counties around Portland, Oregon experience explosive 41% or more growth in concealed handgun permits from 2011 to 2014

Portland’s GoLocalPDX has a lead news story on the growth of concealed carry permits in the Portland area.  Not enough information is presented in the article to determine the permit growth rate for all three counties, but Multnomah and Washington counties had a 41 percent growth in permits between 2011 and 2014 (42840/30429).  …

CPRC in the New York Times: Are people carrying permitted concealed handguns into airports really significant?

The Sunday New York Times piece by Kate Murphy has this:

. . . The Crime Prevention Research Center used public records to count 12 million Americans with concealed-carry permits. It’s probably a low estimate as numbers are not available for all states that issue licenses, and five states and most of Montana don’t even require permits to carry.

The Melbourne Square Mall in Florida is yet another gun-free zone

Papa John’s lets pizza delivery woman who shot armed robber keep her job, Police: “She had no other choice”

As the police say, the pizza delivery woman “had no other choice” and she would have been in real danger if she hadn’t had her concealed handgun permit.  From Fox News:

The employee was making a delivery in Decatur, Ga., Sunday night when a man approached her vehicle, forcing her onto the ground at gunpoint, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.
