Survey: By a 49%-to-37% margin, Americans support armed teachers to stop school shootings, those with children are much more supportive

Rasmussen Reports has a new national survey of 1,000 American Adults on August 21-22, 2022, showing that by a 49%-to-37% margin, Americans support armed teachers to stop school shootings. This is a significant change from their February 28, 2018 survey, where Americans opposed it by a 43%-to-48% margin.

In that earlier survey, adults with children were more likely than adults without children to support armed teachers (59%-to-54%). The new survey provides an even larger gap (57%-to-44%) for people with children at home.

Republicans and independents, men and women, people 18 to 64, whites and other race, and all those making less than $200,000 per year.

A YouGov survey from earlier this year showed an almost identical result.
