Do all criminals in Hawaii have machine guns or at least have buddies who have machine guns? CBS’s Hawaii 5-O continues its obsession with criminals using machine guns (Hawaii 5-O S10 E21, March 27, 2020). This show doesn’t seem to be able to go an episode without criminals using full automatic firearms.
On TV shows, machine guns always seem to be the weapons of choice for bad guys when they get in shootouts with police. Some hyperbole is to be expected on television, but the level of exaggeration has become pretty over-the-top. In real life, criminals use machine guns so rarely that a 2016 survey of prison inmates only broke down the numbers for uses of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The survey did not even mention fully automatic weapons. Since 1934, there was only one possible known use ever of a civilian using a machine gun in a murder. And even before 1934, they were very rare.
The first five segments here are from ABC’s The Rookie, one episode from NBC’s Chicago PD, and two episodes from CBS’s Magnum PI. Police are the targets in all but one of the below episodes from the 2018-19 Season (the single exception is the first episode of Magnum PI). This list is probably very far from exhaustive. One question is where do these television show writers think that the criminals are obtaining all these machine guns, certainly not at your local gun store.

And especially with this show being “set” in Hawaii, probably the state with the MOST restrictive gun laws going. Even professionals entering for competitions have to register their firearms. That criminals have easy access to full auto firearms is a bad joke.
Screen entertainment is responsible for a great deal of real behavior these days, when young people grow up on screen entertainment without parental oversight to teach them the differences between the unreality on screen and the realities of behaving in a real world. But, you’ll never get an acknowledgment of that from the entertainment industry. They should be boycotted and their part of this nation’s economy reduced.
Nonsensical over the top presentations of machine gun usage by criminals is hardly the province of CBS alone. Let’s not overlook the fantasies produced by Chicago PD, whose episode airing this past Wednesday, April 15, focused on the sale of FIFTY (50) Uzi machine guns in an undercover sting.
Where did they come from?!? Why, Indiana of course…
The continual drumbeat of this bilge is designed to leave a vague belief in our cultural subconscious that there must be big gaps in gun laws, leaving a sympathetic ear to persons screaming for more gun banning restrictions.
Yet another anti gun propaganda snippet has been inserted into the recently updated series “Bosch” on Amazon Prime video – this one to reinforce the drivel that gun owners are far more likely to have their guns taken and used against them than to use the gun for self defense.
In this series, the murderer – in an out of the way location – uses the very gun the left at home in his garage. The various parts of this plot were segregated into several episodes, and introduced in a very off handed manner, almost as if the show’s producers were embarrassed at having to show obeisance to the prevailing line that private ownership of guns is always, Always, ALWAYS bad – for everyone except the criminals.

Let’s take a look at why the liberal leftist media so enjoy misrepresenting reality: 1) indoctrinating the public that machine gun are essentially evil and only good for one thing: killing. 2) they must be easy to get, because any bad guys(s) can get them. 4) they are completely illegal for citizens to own, anywhere, under any circumstances. All these are lies, but part of the agenda that the liberal left pushes. The liberal left is not interested in personal liberty or personal freedom or even personal responsibility. They want to indoctrinate the public to believe in the nonexistence of any power that is in the hands of the people.
