The rules explicitly note that concealed carry permits aren’t honored on the military bases. “First, state issued ‘concealed weapons permits’ are not recognized on any Navy installation.”
“personal firearms may only be stored in the installation’s armory”
“All firearms will be unloaded and secured with a trigger lock and ammunition must be carried in the farthest most possible location away from the firearm prior to transporting on an installation”
The bottom line: you can only have possession of a firearm when you transport it on to a base.…
Nikki Goeser and John Lott will talk tonight in Missoula, Montana. They will speak about the statistics concerning universal background checks and “red flag” laws, according to the MSSA. This event will occur at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

…It seems obvious: Restrict gun access and people will be safer. Everything from gun bans to background checks keep being pushed as the solutions.
But theory and practice don’t always match. Too often restrictions don’t stop criminals and only disarm law-abiding citizens, particularly poor minorities.
Since Dr. John Lott addressed members of the Polish parliament early last year, the Crime Prevention Research Center’s research has been getting some attention.
Take our recent work on assault weapons, where we showed that the types of guns used in murders that were covered by the ban actually fell after the ban ended.…
