It happened Thursday evening, July 26 near 35th and Silver Spring.
Milwaukee police say a person outside the Citgo gas station shot the alleged robbery suspect in the butt. Police say the 21-year-old male suspect attempted to rob a 33-year-old-man, when that man, who was a CCW permit holder, shot the suspect.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital and was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. . . .
Chojnacki said he was open carrying his firearm as a concealed carry permit holder.
Surveillance video confirmed Chojnacki’s account of events, the complaint says. . . .
Thomas Chojnacki said Monday, Aug. 6 he did spend three days in jail before the decision was made not to charge him. The district attorney confirmed for FOX6 News no charges would be filed. . . .

The shooting occurred at Isaac Campbell Park on South Street shortly after 5:20 p.m. when the shooter, whom police have not identified, returned to the park after a fistfight and began firing, investigators said.
A bystander, who was licensed to a carry a firearm, shot the gunman, police said. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. . . .
Authorities say a Massachusetts cab driver fatally shot a passenger who tried to rob him.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office says after the cab driver picked up two men in New Bedford early Friday, the men put the driver in a choke hold and used a knife to try to rob him.
Prosecutors say the driver managed to escape the cab and fired several shots, hitting 24-year-old Christopher Dunton. Dunton was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Prosecutors say the other man fled the scene. They say that man, 23-year-old Kyle Dawson, was arrested in New Bedford after noon on Friday. . . .

The struggle began about 11:15 p.m. when the 23-year-old driver picked up two males in the 7400 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to Chicago Police. The males began to beat the driver and attempted to take his vehicle.
The driver, who had a concealed-carry license, pulled out a handgun and chased the two males out of his vehicle, firing shots at them but missing, police said.
During the foot chase, one of the two males jumped back in the vehicle and sped off, according to police. The ride-share driver grabbed onto his vehicle and was dragged a short distance before he let go and the carjacker drove away. . . .

The attempted robbery happened just before midnight, said Lt. Larry Crowson of the Houston Police Department. Two cable repairmen were working on a cable box in the Northline neighborhood, near Fulton and Veenstra.
At least two armed men approached them and attempted to rob them, Crowson said, but one of the repairmen – who has a concealed handgun license – pulled out a gun.
They exchanged gunfire, Crowson said, and one of the robbery suspects was shot. He ran down the street and collapsed. He was taken to a hospital. . . .

A tow truck driver shot and wounded a man who allegedly tried to rob him, police said.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in the 100-block of North Leamington Avenue in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood.
The driver said that four individuals attempted to rob the driver who then pulled out a gun. The other individual ran away, but one person was injured by the driver.
The injured man was hospitalized in good condition.
The driver does have a conceal carry license.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a man who was nearby stepped in with his gun to help. Deputies said he had a concealed-carry license and did the right thing.
According to the incident report, the assault happened Tuesday around 6 p.m. at the Walmart on County Road 220. In a Facebook post, the women explained she thought the teen wanted to help her with groceries, but as he approached he told her, “I want you to have sex with me. I’ve got a knife in my pocket.”
When she saw a man walking by the aisle, she yelled for help, the Sheriff’s Office said. News4Jax spoke with that man, who wished to remain anonymous.
When the man heard the cry for help, he drew his gun, which he was licensed to carry and stopped the teenager. According to the man, the woman said the teen threatened to stab her if she didn’t comply. . . .

The man, a regular patron at the coffee shop who knows Hamilton and has a concealed weapons permit, approached Overall, then shot him once when Overall went after him, according to police. . . .
The victim’s cousin, a 24-year-old from Hamden, was waiting in his car. We’re told he heard the commotion, got out of his car and was also stabbed.
The 24-year-old then took out his gun and shot the assailant in the chest, killing him.
According to police, the 24-year-old who shot the suspect does have a pistol permit. His gun is also registered. . . .

Upon grabbing his pistol and running across the street, Kevin told the suspects to get on the ground. The female and the man standing outside the window complied and sat down. The person inside, who was wearing a black hoodie, came out with his face covered, got in the passenger side of the vehicle, and slid into the driver’s seat. After yelling at him to get out of the car, he eventually did and sat down.
Kevin had his pistol pointed at the three suspects sitting until police arrived. When they did, they demanded Kevin to put the gun down, and when he did, one of the males fled the scene. . . .

According to Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard, police were working through Wednesday to obtain surveillance footage of the incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First and Last Shot Cantina, on National Road in Triadelphia.
Howard said the man allegedly drew a gun at the door to the bar, only to take off running when the employee drew his own weapon.
“The guy showed up at the door, brandished a weapon, and the employee brandished his weapon back,” Howard said. “The guy took off running. We got the dogs on him, they tracked him, and they found his car over by Wanda’s (Bargain Barn), and he got in his car and took off.”. . .
Howard said he is a proud supporter of the second amendment right to defend oneself. He said whether employees should be allowed to carry weapons on the job should be up to individual businesses.
“I’m very pro-right-to-carry, but that’s up to the individual business as to let them carry like that,” he said. . . .

Officers responded to a call on West Fourth Street near Laguna Park. The caller said a man armed with a knife was assaulting a woman on her property and trying to take her car.
Investigators say Ruben Garcia Lopez, 25, confronted the woman and her boyfriend, claiming it was his car. The woman was trying to get her children out of the vehicle.
A neighbor arrived home, saw the attack and came to the rescue. Police say he pointed his handgun at the attacker and walked him across the street. A police officer arrived, the suspect dropped the knife then attacked the officer. The officer then subdued the suspect and placed him under arrest. . . .

The 44-year-old was sitting in his vehicle about 1:25 a.m. in the 4100 block of North Carroll Avenue when a gunman approached and tried to rob him, Chicago police said.
The man pulled out his own gun and the two began to shoot at each other, according to police. He was struck in the leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
Police did not know if the robber had been shot. The wounded man had a license to carry his weapon.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said they arrived to find Jovette Williams, the owner of Smoke in the City, holding the suspect, Issac Palmer, at gunpoint when they arrived.
Williams said she recently had her BBQ trailer business burglarized twice and watched the trailer as an unknown suspect began crawling underneath the door. She said Palmer pulled the door out and made entry into the trailer. (She told police that the door to the business is able to be locked, but the bottom is broken so that it may be pulled out.)
She said she held Williams at gunpoint until police showed up.

A robbery attempt turned into a shooting in Trotwood Thursday morning.
The Montgomery County Coroner has identified the person killed as 17-year-old Calvin Craver.
It happened just after 2:30 am Thursday on Salem Avenue near Wolf Road.
Dispatchers say a man with a gun came into the “My Garage” auto repair shop.
Employees were inside the business working at the time.
Dispatchers say during the robbery attempt, someone from inside the business pulled a gun on Craver and shot him.
The man who shot the suspect called 911. . . .

Cpl. Marcus hines explained that based on the information and evidence they have, they believe the shooting was an act of self-defense.
According to Louisiana law, a homicide is justifiable “When committed in self-defense by one who reasonably believes that he is in imminent danger of losing his life or receiving great bodily harm and that the killing is necessary to save himself from that danger.”
The law also says as long as the person is not engaged in anything illegal, he doesn’t have a duty to retreat before using deadly force.
“A person who is not engaged in unlawful activity and who is in a place where he or she has a right to be shall have no duty to retreat before using deadly force as provided for in this Section, and may stand his or her ground and meet force with force.”
In the case of the East Stoner Skate Park deadly shooting, police said Tinsley was armed with a gun and an axe handle.
Police said he also threatened to hurt the man who later shot and killed him. . . .

Investigators told Channel 11 the pizza delivery driver had just dropped off a pizza at an apartment and was walking back to his car when the suspect, armed with a knife, ambushed him and tried to rob him.

He gained access into the secured area of the bus and tried to attack the driver while purposely grabbing the steering wheel, causing it to crash.
Another passenger confronted Arellanes-Audelo, at which point the suspect broke out a window and got out of the bus.
After getting out, Arellanes-Audelo was confronted by a passerby, who was armed with a gun. After seeing the gun, Arellanes-Audelo dropped the knife and remained at the scene until law enforcement arrived. . . .

An employee reportedly fired shots during a smash-and-grab attempt Thursday morning.
Police say someone crashed a vehicle into Motor City Pawn Brokers on Gratiot near I-696 just before 5:30 a.m. The vehicle, believed to be a pickup truck, broke through the glass and pushed the metal security screen into the display area of the store.
One suspect entered the damaged area and, once inside, encountered an employee, who discharged two rounds, police say. The suspects then fled in the vehicle.
Police say there are no known injuries.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, a robbery occurred, which led the victim to shoot at the suspect, Alexander Diaz. The victim told deputies he made arrangements through Craigslist to purchase cellphones from Diaz. They met at the Walgreens to conduct the transaction. Diaz then demanded more money from the victim and made verbal threats, insinuating he had a weapon and he was going to rob the victim, the report stated. The victim feared he was going to be robbed after the suspect walked to his car and placed an object in his waistband. Diaz approached the victim again in an aggressive manner, demanded additional money and postured himself as if he was removing a gun from his waistband, Sheriff’s Office officials said. The victim stated he feared for his life and fired several rounds at Diaz. The suspect retreated to his vehicle and fled the area at a high rate of speed. . . .

It started when witnesses say Tribble walked into a nearby business and asked for a temporary tag for a vehicle he’d recently purchased. He then got into an argument with the business owner, and was asked to leave.
As he was backing his vehicle out of the parking lot, another employee arrived and was walking in Tribble’s direction. That’s when police say Tribble opened fire on the man.
When the business owner saw that his employees were being shot at, he grabbed a handgun and began returning fire. At some point during the shooting, two employees — a man and a woman — were shot several times in the upper body area. . . .

Boek saw a woman, who he thought was his girlfriend, be helped into an Uber by another woman and a bartender.
The woman who was put in the Uber was not Boek’s girlfriend.
The Uber driver, Robert Westlake, 38, of Lake Wales, headed westbound on Dundee Road.
Judd said that Westlake is a concealed weapon permit holder and a licensed security guard who recently completed police academy. Westlake had a gun in his car. . . .
Boek was aggressively following the Uber in a Ford F-250 pickup truck. He approached the Hyundai from behind, passed and then pulled in front of it. Boek then stopped in the road in front of the Hyundai.
Westlake stopped the Hyundai. Boek got out of his truck and walked toward the Hyundai, yelling at Westlake that he had a pistol.
Boek continued to approach and Westlake reached into the pocket of the driver door, grabbed his handgun and fired one shot at Boek. . . .
According to a release, the burglary suspect charged into the owner while leaving the business. The owner was armed and fired his gun, hitting the suspect.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Byron Garcia-Duran, was later pronounced dead. . . .

According to Tampa Police, the subject punched Williams after seeing her loaded firearm.
The weapon accidentally discharged during the altercation, hitting her girlfriend, Jasmine Wynne. . . .
It was just before 1 a.m., on the 14300 block of Lozier, when a 40-year-old man with a gun drawn approached a 55-year-old man and tried to rob him, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department. The area is north of Mack and west of Chalmers.
The intended robbery victim withdrew his own handgun and the two men shot each other in the struggle. The victim was hit in the buttocks and is in stable condition. The suspect was shot in his back and in his leg and left in stable condition — and in police custody. . . .

The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. as the 36-year-old man pulled into a parking space at an apartment complex.
Wilson, Rice and Wagner walked up to the man, pointed guns at him and stole one of the man’s gun. The group repeatedly punched, kicked and pistol-whipped him while he was on the ground, according to police.
The man pulled out a second gun while he was on the ground and fired several shots at the group. The trio returned fire. One of the bullets hit Wilson, 26, in the chest. He was taken to MetroHealth where he died. . . .

The encounter started on Thurmond Street around 1:30 a.m. Investigators said two men and a woman were all in one vehicle and the driver had a stack of cash on him. At some point, the other guy tried to rob the driver, and ended up outside the car, shooting the driver several times. The man behind the wheel, according to police, was armed as well and fired back. Employees told police the man entered the store with a gun and demanded money from the register, according to the statement. One employee tried to grab the gun away from the man.

Lt. Todd Ojile said DeLeon and his 18-year-old stepbrother were leaving an apartment complex in a car and DeLeon nearly struck a pickup that was heading south on Amidon.
“As the truck passed, the vehicle with the 23-year-old male and the 18-year-old male pulled out behind it, sped up, got in front of it and blocked it in the middle of the street,” Ojile said.
He said DeLeon then approached the truck and demanded money from the 39-year-old driver, who refused.
“A short verbal altercation ensued, and the 23-year-old male, who was armed with a golf club at that time, began hitting the truck, smashing out…the back window,” Ojile said.
The man driving the pickup retrieved a handgun from inside the truck and shot DeLeon. . . .

Boseman says shortly before 7 a.m. 2 people attempted to break into the building through the backdoor. “There is an ax, which is inside the door and there are markings on the door, as [if] someone was trying to break-in.”
Boseman tells 7News that’s when the person overseeing the property unlocked the back gate and saw the suspects. He says the individual fired at the 2 men and killed one of them. . . .
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The Public Information Officer Detective Nikki Carson confirms to 7News no charges have been filed against the person who shot the suspects at this time. . . .

The shooting took place about 12:35 a.m. at the Marathon gas station on the 12700 block of Fenkell.
As the victim walked up to the gas station, he noticed a man in a ski mask. The masked man then pointed a shotgun at him, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.
The victim, a concealed pistol license holder, pulled out a gun of his own and fired shots. . . .

Police in Florida say a private security guard fatally shot a man who was trying to rob an arcade.
Cocoa police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said in a news release that 55-year-old Nathaniel Carter was armed and wearing a mask when he arrived at Blue Diamond Arcade early Monday.
She says a security officer confronted Carter, telling him, “don’t do this.” Martinez says gunfire was exchanged and Carter was hit. He ran, but collapsed about 80 feet (24 meters) from the building.
Carter was declared dead at a hospital.
Martinez says the guard has a concealed weapons permit.
Sgt. Doug Levine said that after reviewing video and talking to witnesses, it’s clear that the guard was within legal boundaries to shoot Carter. . . .

Mattson kicked in the front door, setting off an audible alarm. Once inside, Mattson allegedly damaged some items. Mattson then exited the business.
The store owner, armed with a firearm, confronted Mattson, according to the news release. Mattson reportedly pushed the store owner by the chest, according to the news release.
At that point, the store owner fired the weapon, putting a round into the ground. This apparently calmed Mattson somewhat as he provided no further resistance to the store owner, according to the news release. . . .

According to an arrest report, a man was backing a trailer into his driveway on Sealine Drive at about 11:15 p.m. Friday when he noticed an SUV blocking the road. The man said the SUV driver, later identified as Nicholas W. Pinto, 42, approached him yelling and screaming and had his hand behind his back, so he fired a round from his handgun into the ground, and Pinto walked off.
