An Example from CBS of Media Bias regarding Concealed Handgun Permits

Here is a very short clip of Hawaii Five-O trying to provide an example of a concealed handgun permit holder representing a danger to others.  Other parts of the program show the permit holder as a real jerk and eventually stealing a gun from a police officer and shooting someone.

Congressman Louie Gohmert cites CPRC research on the false positive problem with the NICS background check system

Congressmen Louie Gohmert gave a talk on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to discuss the false positive rate for NICS background checks.  Out of 73,000 initial denials in 2010, there were only 42 cases referred for prosecution and just 13 convictions.  The one correction that we would make is that this low level of prosecutions and convictions has been true across administrations from Clinton to Bush to Obama.  …

28 month delay to get a concealed handgun permit in Riverside County, California

It was the summer of 2016 when Steve Perkio, a retired construction worker with a love for the outdoors, walked into the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department headquarters with his paperwork in hand. Perkio planned to spend much of his retirement camping in the rural wilderness, where he would often be isolated and alone, so he figured it was wise for him to start carrying a gun for protection.
