…Dr. John Lott’s analysis caught a big error in CDC data on accidental gun deaths, that made the number of deaths look 21% larger than it actually was. From Fox News:
…Federal data showing annual accidental gun deaths in Tennessee soared to 105 from just 19 propelled a fierce firearms control campaign, but it turned out the stats were about as accurate as a two-dollar pistol.
Dr. John Lott had a letter in the Washington Post responding to a piece in the previous Sunday’s paper by Daniel Webster and Ronald Daniels. The letter is as follows:
…In their Oct. 23 Sunday Opinion essay, “Guns on campus only invite tragedies,” Daniel Webster and Ronald Daniels claimed that letting college students carry guns for protection is a “recipe for tragedy.”
Dr. John Lott spoke with host Phil Valentine about the many regulations, fees & taxes that keep guns out of the hands of the most vulnerable of law-abiding people. …Just in time for the election, the New York attorney general has released a new statewide study showing that many crime guns originated from other states. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office describes the report as containing “an unprecedented amount of information about traced guns.”
The CPRC provided a little bit of balance in an article on the release of a new gun tracing report by the New York Attorney General.

This paper by the Bloomberg School of Public Health (copy available here, henceforth referred to as the Bloomberg Report) doesn’t even try to address the existing arguments that have been made on campus carry. Below is a very rough, very quick response to their claims. For those who are interested, here is a video of recently invited testimony that Dr.…
