Should “military-style rifles” be banned?  On Tuesday, the federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia – in a virtual party line vote – upheld Maryland’s assault weapons ban.

Ted Nugent has an op-ed in Newsweek on the 4th Circuit’s decision on Maryland’s Assault Weapon ban where he discusses CPRC’s research.

The statistics from every crime study known to man, including the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program and Dr. John Lott’s exhaustive research for the Crime Prevention Research Center and for his book The War on Guns, demonstrate that from the time President Clinton signed the knee-jerk, feel-good, counterproductive, so-called assault weapons ban many years ago, nothing has changed in the use of all long guns, including every rifle and shotgun design there is.

Case involving law enforcement officer being protected: Rising Sun, February 20, 2017, CBS Channel 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana

Indiana State Police say a Moores Hill man was killed by a person who witnessed the man fighting with an officer.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 8300 block of State Road 56, west of Rising Sun.

The case was decided on almost a perfect party line vote.  There were 10 Democrats and 4 Republicans hearing the case.  The vote was 9 Democrats and 1 Republican in favor of the ban on “military-style” rifles and 3 Republicans and 1 Democrat against it.…
